New fee rates

By Resolution No. 1123/2014 of 23 May 2014 regarding fees and Statement of Rectification No. 622/2014 published on 19 June 20141, some patent fees of the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property have been changed.

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Portugal are advised that from 1 July 2014 the following rates apply:

1. Filing of European patent applications with INPI:

Transmittal fee: EUR 20.90 if filed on paper

2. Publication of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC:

Fee for provisional protection: EUR 52.25 if filed online, EUR 104.50 if filed on paper

Correction of the translation of the patent claims: EUR 26.13 if filed online, EUR 52.25 if filed on paper

3. Publication of translations of the patent under Article 65 EPC:

Fee for national validation: EUR 52.25 if filed online, EUR 104.50 if filed on paper

Correction of the translation of the patent: EUR 26.13 if filed online, EUR 52.25 if filed on paper

Filing fee: EUR 104.50 if filed online, EUR 209 if filed on paper

6. Conversion of European patent applications or patents into national utility model applications or utility models:

Filing fee: EUR 104.50 if filed online, EUR 209 if filed on paper

Examination fee: EUR 78.38 if filed online, EUR 156.75 if filed on paper

7. Registering a transfer, licence or other right:

Transfer fee: EUR 104.50 if filed online, EUR 130.63 if filed on paper

Licence fee: EUR 88.82 if filed online, EUR 104.50 if filed on paper

Compulsory licence fee: EUR 10.45 if filed online, EUR 20.90 if filed on paper

Users of this brochure (16th edition) should amend Tables II, column 5, III.B, columns 2 and 6, IV, columns 5 and 8, VI, column 1, VII, column 2 and IX, column 4 accordingly.
