Amaia Zurutuza obtained her PhD degree in polymer chemistry and worked in a pharmaceutical company for six years in the research and development of new drug delivery systems to improve the quality of life of female patients worldwide. After living in the UK for 12 years, she moved to San Sebastian to become the scientific director of Graphenea. Her work relates to graphene, the world’s thinnest known material which has extraordinary properties that are expected to have many industrial applications in electronics, optoelectronics, photonics, biosensors and sensors.
