Jérôme Galon specialises in the fields of immunology and cancer and is Research Director Exceptional Class as INSERM and head of the laboratory of Integrative Cancer Immunology in Paris, France. He pioneered the Immunoscore and his work on the comprehensive analysis of the tumour-microenvironment and the role of T-cells in human cancer has led to cancer immunotherapy, to the demonstration of the importance of adaptive pre-existing immunity in human cancer and to the concept of cancer immune-contexture. He is a successful entrepreneur and the co-founder of HalioDx, a Veracyte company. His contributions have been recognised by numerous awards, including the William B. Coley Award, the European Inventor Award, the Jeantet-Collen award and the Galien Prize.
